Technical Program Manager

eBay

As a Technical Program Manager at eBay, I oversee the planning, development, and execution of technology-related projects. I serve as a bridge between engineering, product, and business teams, ensuring our programs align with eBay's strategic goals. I manage cross-functional projects, making sure they're completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards. I collaborate with various stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and business units, to gather requirements, set priorities, and manage expectations.

What I love about the work I do is helping oversee on of my favorite programs, the Core Product Talent Accelerator Program (eTAP), where we invite women at grade levels 25-27 to participate. This program supports our mission of increasing gender and ethnic diversity at all levels of leadership. The goal is to empower employees with the confidence, competence, and community they need to unlock their full leadership potential and inspire others to do the same. The program covers essential topics like self-awareness, networking, sponsorship, negotiation, personal branding, and overcoming leadership challenges. All of this is approached with a leadership perspective, sensitive to the unique challenges underrepresented populations may face.

How I spend my typical day depends on the project I'm working on. For example, right now, I'm focused on eTAP. My day involves overseeing the program's development and ensuring it meets our goals of increasing diversity and empowering women leaders at eBay. I collaborate with stakeholders, including HR, mentors, and department leaders, to fine-tune the program's content, which covers topics like self-awareness, networking, and negotiation. I also work with my team to make sure the program is running smoothly. Alongside that, I'm responsible for addressing any compliance-related issues, as I also manage the SAFE audit, ensuring that all releases on the eBay platform meet our safety and compliance standards. It’s a balance of mentorship, leadership, and detailed oversight.

My journey to eBay is an interesting one. I was in graduate school pursuing a Master's degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering when I discovered my love for data and storytelling through analytics. Needing more income while studying, I sought an internship where I could apply my newfound interest in data. That’s when I came across an opportunity with eBay’s People Business Partner team as a data analyst intern. After completing my internship, I decided to stay on part-time as a contractor while pursuing my PhD in the same field as my Master’s degree. Once I graduated with my PhD, I faced a choice: continue in my original field or follow my passion for data. I received an offer to join eBay’s Product Strategy and Operations team full-time, and I accepted it because I loved the company’s culture and was excited about the data-driven work I’d be doing with this team.

Looking ahead, I see my future as a continuous journey of growth, both personally and professionally. I’m excited to keep expanding my expertise in data analytics and program management, especially in areas like diversity and inclusion. I envision applying my background in biological and agricultural engineering to drive innovative projects that blend technology with sustainable practices, addressing both industry challenges and environmental concerns. I want to take on more leadership roles, driving initiatives that, not only empower underrepresented groups, but also contribute to shaping more equitable workplace cultures. My work with eTAP and SAFE audit will continue to be a core focus. I also aim to explore new ways to leverage my program management skills to lead impactful projects that bridge the gap between agriculture, technology, and data-driven solutions. Ultimately, I see myself using my skills and experiences to mentor others and help them navigate their own journeys, while also advocating for sustainable and data-informed approaches in both industry and community settings. The possibilities are endless, and I’m excited for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead!

For fun, I love traveling and exploring new cultures. It’s always exciting to immerse myself in different places and experiences. I also enjoy reading, as it’s a great way to relax and learn something new. And, of course, I cherish spending time with my Australian cattle dog, Luna Grace. She’s a wonderful companion and brings so much joy to my life.
