Carmen Rios
Regional Technical Support Manager for the Americas
ThousandEyes with Cisco
I manage a team of engineers who provide support to customers using a cloud-based 'Software as a Service' (SaaS) platform.
I am passionate about using technology to gain deeper insights into the journey of internet packets.
I spend most of my day discussing the current challenges that my team faces in helping our customers and focusing on their career development. Occasionally, I handle escalations where customers are particularly upset. I also attend meetings to discuss how to manage additional tasks like trainings, processes, etc.
- I earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer and Electronics Engineering. - I joined Cisco as a Customer Support Engineer - I earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) - After 5 years at Cisco, I became manager of Technical Support
I would like to go back to school to pursue a PhD degree related to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education. I also would like to create a company to bring more children, especially girls, into the STEM fields at early age.
I love running and enjoying the landscape around me. I have run half marathons and marathons.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~ Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of 'A Course in Miracles'
