I love working as a team to achieve a larger goal. I also love knowing that my work has impact. People around the world rely on Google tools every day, thanks to the work of Google Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
-Reviewing and analyzing designs to ensure that they conform to best practices for reliability. -Responding to production outages. -Building tooling to help Google scale, and help Google's engineers maintain our systems.
I never coded before college. During my freshman year, I took a little mini-course on programming in Python. I found that I really enjoyed it -- it was like solving puzzles! I decided to take more computer science courses, and ended up graduating with a dual Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. I joined Google immediately after college. I've switched teams and roles several times. After 10 years, I'm still here!
