Louisa Wilson

Senior Principal Implementation Engineer

Arm

. Arm designs and licenses digital IP to partners who create semiconductor products. I head up a team of engineers whose role it is to ensure digital IP designed by Arm can be manufactured in a silicon semiconductor process.

The job is ever-changing, so new challenges are always occuring. And I work with amazing people!

Reading and answering emails. Checking on progress of projects and helping out where I can. Attending meetings about current status, future work, and collaborations.

My journey to semiconductor engineering began with a work experience placement at Ferranti international, this lead me to take A levels. I then chose to take a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a 12 month placement at Fujitsu Microelectronics. Upon graduation I took a graduate role at Fujitsu Microelectronics. From there, I joined Arm.

I hope to help find solutions to the challenging problem of working with decreasing semiconductor node geometries. This will involve working with ever more sophisticated technologies.

I love to get away and explore new places to with my family in our camper. I enjoy running with our local running group . Every year, I try to challenge myself to learn something new. So far, I have learnt to crochet & knit, I am learning to play the guitar, and I have taken up paddle boarding.

My advise is to take every opportunity to gain new experiences. It will help you discover what you love and what you dislike.
