Charlotte Morphet
Team Leader Spatial Planning and Design
St. Albans City and District Council
I am a chartered town planner who is responsible for project manage the spatial plan for the District Council. I am also a Co-founder of Women in Planning. I am a Trustee of the Planning Officers Society. I am a Committee Member of Young Urbanists.
I am working to improve places for existing and future communities.
It varies. I am usually in meetings discussing policy strategies, or project managing evidence bases for local plan or working with local politicians. If not, I am writing, reviewing reports, or reading documents. Pre-pandemic. I would have on-site visits, too. Finally, I provide support to direct reports in ensuring they meet project milestones.
I fell into town planning. I was always interested in places and people. I earned a Master's degree in Arts, Planning, and Sustainability after completing a Bachelor's course in Art History and Visual Studies.
My aim is help get the new Local Plan adopted in the District. I am also looking to buy a house soon.
I like watching TV and going out for dinner. I enjoy going out with my friends and hanging out with my family and partner. I also run an online network called 'Women in Planning UK'.
