Abish E. Carvajal

The London Stock Exchange Group - LSEG

My current role is all about technical software development. I analyze the current applications we are using, identify areas that need improvement, and then develop and write out a detailed plan for how and when those improvements are made.

I love that I support over 450 software applications that are used all over the world! I am responsible for their operation, reliability, and growth. Automation is my passion when it comes to technology.

I start my day with a clean desk - no clutter - that always helps me get in the right mindset. I have a Kanban board for each project and label them by importance - High, Medium, or Low; that allows me to plan my day and priorities. I am a part of many global meetings, so I get to say "hello" to peers from all over the world. As a Technologist in Data & Analytics, I spend a lot of time reviewing detailed information and creating technical guides for other software engineers who are using these applications.

I graduated with Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. In addition, I have an specialization in System Development and Web Applications. I also earned an Associates Degree in Multimedia communications Technology programs. I currently hold 19 licenses and certifications. In order to become a Principal Infrastructure Reliability Engineer, you need to have over 10 years of Technical Experience. My prior roles have been: Implementation Engineer - Computer System Implementation Engineer - Refinitiv Application Support Engineer - Thomson Reuters

As a Female Latina Technologist, I want to become an Executive in Technology; we need more Latina women to represent us! I'll continue preparing myself to grow professionally with certifications and volunteering for new and exciting projects.

I really enjoy being part of the Latina Network and Women in Tech Network. As a US Regional Lead, I enjoy investing my time while having fun in all the activities we get to host! I love to play tennis (USTA ranking 2.5) Salsa, Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue, and Bhangra dancing are fun and good for you! I love reading and listening to audio books. My daughter and I love to travel. We are always looking for our next adventure since we are foodies and enjoy discovering new places.
